Is that a Weed?

If you don’t like where it grows, it’s a weed!
If you didnt buy it, it’s a weed!

The other day while out at our Restoration Ranch, my husband decided that he had a job that I could do...(haha, did I look like I needed a job??) Anyways, being the obedient wife that Iam (help me Jesus) I took up the challenge. I grabbed the "Round Up, Grass and Weed Killer gallon of stuff, and quickly took on this task. Armed with this heavy container that has its own lock and load spray gun I was ready to conquer these little weeds that were pestering my husband so much that he needed me to take care of it right away! So here I go pacing back and forth thru our ROCK filled driveway that is about 16ft wide by 120ft long, looking for all those tiny weeds that could become monstrous in my husband's eyes!

Soon after searching.."Ooooh, I found one!" aim.. shoot...fire!" gotcha, take that!" a few steps later, I do the same....."Ooooh, I found one!" aim.. shoot...fire!" gotcha, take that!"

Then I started asking God "why do you have me out here killing weeds Lord?"
then he showed me..just like we have to weed out our yards, sometimes we need to take some time to look at our own lives for weeds.Weeds in our lives? Ive listed some common weeds in our lives that could destruct our growing with God if we don't get them out!
Attitude,gossiping,cussing,jealousy,unclean thoughts,and bitterness are just a few.
I believe all our lives are susceptible to weeds...and we need to be careful not to allow weeds to grow in our lives.
So what do we do to stop the weeds from intruding our space?
Put on the full armor of God!
Ephesians 6:13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Some times we can pull out the weeds by hand, some times we need a shovel depending on how deep the weed has grown.. other times we need to SPRAY them out!
I pray that you detect your weeds that are stopping you from achieving God's best and begin to pull them out...and PRAY THEM OUT! ....." aim.. shoot...fire!" gotcha!

Lord I pray you give us wisdom and strength to remove anything that will stop us from growing in your love. Amen.

What's in your trunk?

Whats in your trunk? Do you have a Jack & a spare tire?
One day I was sitting at a stop light, when all of a sudden this girl in front of me jumped out and ran to her trunk to get something out before the light turned green. All she did was grab her makeup bag but God had a different plan for me...This is what God wanted me to see.

I saw everything in her trunk, and she had alot of stuff! Your probably wondering what's the big deal...

Well I started thinking how our lives are like our car trunks! We have alot of junk & we have alot of valuable things in there. But in everyone's trunk we have a "jack & a spare tire" Right away the Jack symbolized to me... God, and the spare tire was like a second chance that HE gives us...sometimes we have to use this spare tire more than once in our lives..(well,I know I have!) When we are in need we search for our Jack to lift us up so we can use our spare tire. But what good is it to have a jack & a spare tire if we dont know how to use it? If we don't learn how to use all God has for us, we are cheating ourselves...we won't know what to do..who to call? I pray that if you don't have a personal relationship with God, that you ask him in your heart, so that when you are in need you can run to the Father to lift you up, and use your spare tire, and move on! Romans 10:9-13
9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."[e] 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Potluck for God

God put it on my heart to talk about a "potluck", I guess we'll call it... a "Potluck for God",

Maybe you ask what is a potluck? A potluck is a meal to which each participant brings a dish of food to be shared.

Whenever us ladies are invited to a potluck the first thing we do is think of the BEST dish we could take right? Maybe even a dish that everyone knows YOU do well.

Well thats what God wants from us too...What is our best gift, talent, service, ministry that you can bring to HIS potluck? Now really Im not talking about just a potluck but God's kingdom..what would you bring??

Now theres no right or wrong answer here but I ask you to give me the first thing that God puts in your mind & heart okay? Also read 1 Corinthians 12 when you can.

But in 1 Corinthians 12:4 it says..There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.

We are one body..dont you want to know what the other parts of your body are capable of doing? I do!
Let's post it here, then let's get together for a real potluck! Ill check back with you guys later! ;)

The Toaster

I know many of you were at womens ministry when I spoke about the toaster, but at the time I didnt have a toaster to use for my illustration so I used a really nice silver serving platter but today I was blessed by my walking buddy, Maria Sanchez, she found me a stainless steel toaster! She told me she would keep an eye out for a good one and she did! Thanks Maria!
Now whats the story of the toaster?? okay, you know how God can gives a message in anything right? well I'm visual and he had someone tell me a story and it went like this...

A lady and her husband were fighting, the conversation got heated. Eventually they became more angry, after arguing for awhile the husband left the house and she turned to the son who was in the house throughout the whole argument...She said,"Your dad, is a monster, I can't stand him...blah blah blah...
The son just standing there listening to his mom bash his dad to pieces, slowly turned to the kitchen counter and grabbed the toaster...the mother still ranting on and on about the dad, turned toward her son just when the toaster was in front of her face...her son said, "Mom, Who's the Monster?" In the toaster she saw her face, full of anger and ugliness!

She was the Monster! Wow, is that how she looked when she was full of anger?, how awful, she thought.

In my message I shared and asked all the ladies to pass around this "toaster" and make the ugliest face that they thought represented themselves when they are angry. It was an eye opener for many..

James 4:11-12
Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?

Psalms 34:11-14
Come, my children, and listen to me,
and I will teach you to fear the Lord.
Does anyone want to live a life
that is long and prosperous?
Then keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies!
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

I pray the next time you are about to argue or fight that your remember the "toaster"...be blessed as we learn to be more like Jesus..

A note I wrote in church one day..

Have you ever cried & tasted my presence?
Felt my arms embracing you while you worship?
Your troubles seem so BIG to you
But they are so little to me

So little that I can take care of each one of
your troubles at the same time...
Count your heads...count your problems...
How many problems do you think that is?
A large amount of problems but yet still
it is NOTHING to me...
I handle so much more in seconds of the day,
Yet you hold onto your problems so long
before you give them to me
I love to see you praise me & worship me
My hands are open to you my child
Give me the problems & Give me the praise!

(I wrote this down one day in church.. I know it was between 2000-2004, however I didnt write the date..bummer!)

Thank you Lord for the people you place in my life

Christina & I in high school, Ive treasured this picture for such a time as this! I wanted to thank God for placing Christina in my life. We were the best of friends in high school. I remember having such a love for this girl, like a sister! We did alot together. We had lots of fun times! Life took us seperate ways however 1 1/2 yrs ago (idk) i asked a friend to find this friend of mine on myspace. She messaged Christina now going by the name of Auti Angel and the second I spoke with her I knew that God was going to use us to do something spectacular for his Glory! Even though she is now paralyzed from the waist down, I was more blessed to know that she was serving God and ministering to people by sharing her testimony and that she has a non profit organization called Save A Soul Foundation where they minister to at risk youth. Tonite she was able to come to our church and minister to our womens ministry..How awesome is God?
I guess what I want to share is that I will never take for granted the people God brings into my life..and I pray you do the same. If God says find them...find them! If God says invite them...invite them! If God says pray for them, pray! Be obedient and Let God! He has a plan for us all!

"Ain't no mountain high enough"

It was February 15, 2000, when my husband and I got up early to do this bike ride adventure on our honeymoon in Maui. Our tour began with a very early hotel pickup and a van tour to the summit of Haleakala. Upon arrival at the summit we were escorted by our GUIDE to the crater rim, to view the spectacular sunrise. Even though our GUIDE prepared us by telling us prior to our trip to dress in layers, it was a great moment for us newlyweds to cuddle nice and close to stay warm because it was FREEZING! At 6,700 foot level our GUIDE fitted us to our bicycles, and gave us yellow rain jackets and pants for more warmth. Shortly after telling us the rules, our GUIDE led us down our 28 mile ride down the slopes and turns of Haleakala!! (Weeeee!) I loved it of course and I was right in front with our GUIDE. Marty being the “cautious one” was cruising rather carefully behind me. The ride was scary at moments, for example you don’t ever want to apply only your front brakes, you might just tip over and hurt yourself pretty bad! Our GUIDE picked a breakfast stop for us half way through and we had belgian waffles with strawberries, whipped cream and a view of a beautiful garden. After breakfast we finished our ride through the sugar cane and pineapple fields and ended at the beach!
How awesome it was!
So why do I share this story with you??
To encourage you to see that sometimes we have to face and climb mountains in life that are scary but I encourage you to remember this scripture when you feel like giving up.

Psalms 121 (NLT)
I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the LORD
who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.
The LORD himself watches over you!
The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day
nor the moon at night.
The LORD keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

I know I wouldn’t have done this ride of Haleakala without a “GUIDE” so that leads me to the reason of this story…what really makes you think you want to go thru LIFE without a GUIDE? JESUS! If you’re facing a mountain (divorce, drug addiction, trouble at work, having a hard time with a child) try taking your focus off the mountain and place your focus in your GUIDE.

I pray this short story touches your heart and leads you to your FREE GUIDE in life…Jesus Christ, Amen.

Restoration Ranch

Looking for somewhere to be restored?
We have the perfect location! It's called Restoration Ranch!

Located near the Temecula valley, this 2 1/2 acre property
is the perfect place for a small retreat.

It has been used by a boys church group "Royal Rangers" for a camp out,
a Womens Retreat and Mom & daughter purity getaway.

Truly a blessing from God that we're able to enjoy all the seasons.

About Kimmy G

My love for the Lord has been since a child. I was 5 years old when my grandmother first took me to the church I still attend today, Harbor Christian Center Church. Hearing my mom and grandmother singing praises to our all mighty God after church and revival meetings placed in me a desire I always yearn for. I'm married to a wonderful man, who loves the Lord with all his heart and together we love to work at our Ranch, "Restoration Ranch" and enjoy using it for God's Kingdom.

My desire is to encourage young girls and women to love themselves through the peer pressure times, as well as all the life trials as an adult woman. Following the call of God on my life, I'm currently hosting a LIVE bible study on MomTV.com "That's Life By KimmyG" .

With my passion to serve God, I'd love any opportunity to speak life and encouragement into women of all ages. If you're looking for a speaker for your next event I'd be more than happy to talk to you! Please feel free to contact me.
Always remember, that when we go thru "life's" trials
it should be pushing us to get closer to God!
