Who Do You Follow

The other day I was out at the beach
and all of a sudden a bunch of seagulls flew by.
What caught my eye was that the majority of them
were following the leader in a straight line.
It got me thinking..
"Wow, bees do this, birds do this,
sheep do this, and fish too!"
(I'm sure there are more but those are the ones that popped in my brain)

Which leads me to the question,
"Who do you follow?"
In John 8:10 it says,
Once more Jesus addressed the crowd.
He said, I am the Light of the world.
He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark,
but will have the Light which is Life.

As believers we should be following God,
his word, and his commandments.
But occasionally we fall off track,
like a few of the birds in the picture.

Can you think of what would take you off track
or what would cause you not to follow?
Below are 2 things I can think of:

1) Rather than following His will, we follow our own,

2) Not waiting for His timing but making it happen on our own.

Though times we get off track,
all we have to do is meditate in His word and in prayer
and our loving God is always there to welcome us back!
In 1John 1:9 it says,
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Can you think of a time when you got off track, and then you realized it?
What did you do? How did you feel? I'd love to hear it!

Memorize Mondays

Last week's scripture I memorized was Romans 10:9-10, I'm so glad I picked that scripture, I feel so confident now to share that scripture with someone who may not have a relationship with God. Just a little fyi: I don't memorize scripture to say I know 1000 scriptures..I memorize scriptures so that I can store them up in my heart & mind so that when the day comes that I need to share his word, I will be fully equipped! Join me for memorize mondays by posting in the comments which scripture you plan on memorizing!

This week's scripture: Galatians 6:9 (King James Version)

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

We All Fall Short Friday

This last week has been pretty crazy
and it seems like when our lives get too busy
we tend to make sillier mistakes...
like lock our keys in the car,
forget where we hid something,(huh?)
lose our headpiece for the cellphone (it was under a box all along!)

the sad thing is...
these are just a FEW of the crazy things we did this week!

And below are just a few we actually caught on camera!

Although it's funny, it's always a good reminder that we are normal,
and to always remember that when we make mistakes
are loving God is always there to pick us back up!
Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Can you see where the problem is?
This mommy put her spoonful of baby food in her cup of coffee!

Memorize Mondays

Hey everyone thanks for being patient for this week's memorize mondays video, I got a little busy helping my parents move...

When memorizing scripture try to pick something that really means something to you, something you can visualize. A scripture you can think about over and over, this makes it easy to memorize and easy to share when you need to. Next weeks scripture I plan to memorize will be Romans 10: 9-10, For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

I would really like to see someone post a video of themself quoting their scripture! Will that be you?? I hope so!

Memorize Mondays

The scripture I memorized last week was 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. I love the way it first says we must Humble ourselves, and that he may lift us up in DUE TIME..not our time! But that we can cast all our cares or anxieties on him, because he loves us! Cast means to throw with force! It doesnt say hold on to your anxieties or to cast ONE but it says ALL YOUR ANXIETIES! We serve a great God!

This weeks scripture I plan to memorize is...

Psalm 139:1-2.
O LORD, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.
You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off.

Watching Your Words

I was inspired so much by Pastor Cathy at the "Watching Your Words" Life Builders Seminar last month that my family and I decided to keep track of all the negative things that we say to ourself or each other in a week. As you can see in my kitchen/dining room area I have a huge wall dedicated to be a chalkboard, this is where we decided to write down every negative word we spoke. And boy did we fill that chalkboard up! After a few days, we were shocked to see how quickly we filled it up and who was in "the lead". I hate to admit it but it was me! I learned that I say a lot of inappropriate stuff to myself, like "dummy", and "stupid". I also learned that even though my family & I joke a lot by saying negative things to eachother, they aren't really nice things to say to eachother. We became aware that we need to change our thinking, we need to think higher of ourselves, and not even allow self criticism to exist! Also that we need to look at ourselves as God does! Another thing Pastor Cathy said was "Our words are like a mist of perfume, once you spray it, your stuck with the smell..so once we say something negative we are stuck with the words in our brains! So this week we are trying to do better and I can already see a difference in all of us! So remember, If God could SPEAK the world into existence, we can SPEAK powerful things into our own lives as well as others!

Proverbs 21:23 (Message) Watch your words and hold your tongue; you'll save yourself a lot of grief.

Romans 12:2 (NLT) Don't copy the behavior of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.

Memorize Monday

Sorry I'm late, but better late then never! Here's the link for my video Jeremiah 29:11 . Just wanted you to know that I'm really being blessed by taking the time to memorize the scriptures and I hope you are too!

In Jeremiah 29:11 it talks about him knowing the plans he has for me and for YOU! Plans to prosper us, to give us hope and a future. It makes me think about an architect... an architect has the blueprints to his project, he knows how many windows it will have, and what materials it will be built with to make sure it stands. That's like our God, he knows the plans he has for me, he knows what I can handle and most of all he wants me to prosper! How awesome is that?  This week I will memorize...

1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand,
that he may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Pulling On The Pant Leg Of Your Master!

Have you ever had a small dog or puppy pull on your pants leg while your walking?

You barely even feel it right?

It's like "Oh my gosh little dog, you aren't doing anything to me, leave me alone!"

But to the dog he is probably thinking..."If only I can just bug her enough, she'll touch me!"

Well the other day I seen this cute little yorkie pulling at the pant leg of it's master and it reminded me of  the story in the bible of the lady who just wanted to touch the hem of Jesus's garment so she could be healed.

Luke 8:40-49 (New Living Translation)  Jesus Heals in Response to Faith
On the other side of the lake the crowds welcomed Jesus, because they had been waiting for him. Then a man named Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come home with him. His only daughter,[a] who was about twelve years old, was dying.
As Jesus went with him, he was surrounded by the crowds. A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding,[b] and she could find no cure. Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped. “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.”
But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.” When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. “Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

Sometimes we go so many days carrying around our sickness, sadness and discouragement before we turn to God. This lady had this sickness for 12 years before she became desperate enough to reach out and touch him! I'll be honest I have some issues that I've been holding on to, but I'm ready to reach out and touch the hem of his garment! What are YOU waiting for? Let's make this Easter memorable, let it be the year we get desperate enough to push through the crowds and seek him! Who cares what people think! Who cares what people may say! We need to be made whole! I encourage you today whatever it is that God has placed on your heart today, press through all the doubt and touch our God, be made WHOLE!

Be blessed by this song! Nicole C Mullen One Touch
